    Valentines Getaway Offer

    Thame Driving Blog

About 2 years ago I was approached by several customers about information that we know as "motor industry experts" but is unknown to the wider public.

I thought that knowing what to do to pass your MOT or how to claim money back if you hit a pothole was easy information to find. Apparently not, and anayway when it comes to cars and motoring, what I have found is that there is alot of guff and untruths out there. The feeling I got was that people want to listen to people that they trust.

So....I started writing articles about useful motoring information, amusing tales and local information. I now send this out to over 2,000 people on a monthly basis along with other motor related emails and generally get really good feedback. In fact what happens now is that my readers are now telling me what to write about.

I hope you enjoy the articles and if there is a particular topic you want to know about then please let me know.

We all know Valentine’s Day is just an excuse for card manufacturers to cash in, but it’s still a great excuse to celebrate with the one that we love.

Unless of course you go with Nick’s motto that everyday should be Valentine’s Day, the old romantic.

If your anything like me and have left your Valentines planning to last minute, don’t worry I've been asking everyone around the office for the best places to visit within driving distance of Thame.

So you can still woo your loved one by whisking them off to a romantic retreat or a fancy meal.

There are so many to choose from, and we’ve hand picked the top five most romantic destinations some of us have visited.

    1) Crazy Bear, Beaconsfield.

The Stadhampton Crazy Bear is pretty cool, but it’s sister venue is one of the most romantic settings I have ever come across (that may sound like an exaggeration, but no word of lie it’s beautiful!). So if you like things a little quirky, celebrate at their masquerade ball on Saturday 13thFebruary. They also have a special Valentines menu in their English and Thai restaurants.

    2) Tynley Hall, Hampshire

This is the perfect combination between traditional elegance with 21st century. It’s in a stunning location, overlooking sweeping lawns and lakes. They have a beautiful Oak room where you can enjoy a fine dining experience with a 5 course meal if you don’t quite fancy an overnight stay.

    3) Oakley Court, Windsor

This truly is a little hidden gem, you can spend the day in Windsor, and take a scroll back to the hotel for a gastronomical 5 course meal, and unwind by the breath-taking views, they have some great valentines deals on.

    4) Punting in Oxford

You have to take a gamble with the weather but if it’s miserable at least you can still hit the shops. Punting in Oxford is the quintessential romantic activity, and it’s right here on our doorstep!

    5) Indoor skydiving in Milton Keynes

Fancy a bit more of an adrenaline rush? They say that an element of danger is a great way to bring two people closer together and although the indoor skydiving centre in MK is perfectly safe, as far as the lizard part of your brain is concerned danger is all around.

And if you fancy making your getaway even more breath-taking, why not hire a car for the weekend, and really impress you’re valentine.
